Dr. Florian Kagerer joins the Department of Kinesiology having recently worked as a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Maryland. He received the Ph.D. from the Institute of Medical Psychology in Munich, Germany in 1991 and also completed postdoctoral training in the Human Motor Control Laboratory at Arizona State University from 1994-97. His academic interests lie in motor neuroscience and specifically focuses on the mechanisms underlying multisensory-motor integration and sensorimotor adaptation in children with developmental motor dysfunctions such as Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD). The focus of this work will contribute to the department efforts in pediatric exercise science.
